Can our child attend Swedish as Mother Tongue even if we, the parents, are not Swedish citizens?

Yes, all children who have a basic proficiency in everyday Swedish can participate in Swedish as Mother Tongue. However, the annual fee is higher for students whose parents are not Swedish citizens since they cannot be eligible for the financial support from Skolverket (Swedish National Agency for Education).

I don’t know if my child has a high enough level to participate in Swedish as Mother Tongue What should I do?

If your child understands and speaks everyday Swedish, they can always participate in Swedish as Mother Tongue regardless of their level. If you’re uncertain, you can ask us for guidance.

Does my child have to join the group that matches their age?

No, you can choose a group below or above your child’s age level based on their maturity or proficiency in Swedish. If you’re not sure which group to select for your child, feel free to ask us for guidance.

When does the school year for Swedish as Mother Tongue start and end?

We begin all our courses the 1st of October and end on 31st of May.

Do we need to buy any materials or books?

All school materials and books are included in the course fee. To participate in the course, the student needs to have access to a computer with a high-speed internet connection and a headset. They should also have access to a printer for printing materials that are sent weekly via email or through the digital platform.

Do students receive grades or certificates after completing the course?

Currently, we do not grade students in Swedish as Mother Tongue. However, if you require a certificate for official purposes, such as applying to a school, we can provide one.

What do we need to do in order to participate in online classes via Zoom?

The student will need a computer with a stable internet connection and a headset. Access to a printer is necessary for printing materials sent via email or through the digital platform.

How do I pay the annual fee? May I split the payment?

When you enroll your child, you are offered two payment options on how to pay the annual fee. You can pay the full amount upfront or split it in two payments. The first payment must be made upon enrollment, and the second payment shall be due before the 10th of December.

Are your teachers qualified and licensed?

Yes, our teachers are qualified and licensed.

Can my child attend a different group on days when they cannot participate in their regular group?

No, it is not possible to temporarily switch groups to make up for missed lessons. However, you can ask the teacher for extra materials or assignments to catch up on the missed lesson.
